Construction Gallery invites you to spend the afternoon at our exciting 3 month pop-up gallery with our resident artist Egle Vaituleviciute. Having recently returned from India, where she spent seven weeks delivering an exciting textile/ fashion project, this creative workshop will enable you to work with the artist to create your own piece of work responding her work and ideas.

Suitable for all ages but under 10s should be accompanied by an adult.

Come along to Construction Gallery for an extraordinary evening of dancing yoga suffragettes, Jonathan Trayner will erect his flag dedicating Construction Gallery as a Temporary Autonomous Zone, BBKP will host all sorts of playful Big Wheel shenanigans with their installation, Matthew James Kay’s mountain will be on display nestled in the project space, beautiful paintings by Yasuhiro Onishi, video by Bronwen Buckerage, and sound by Helena Wee.

From the innovations of Construction Gallery to the aspirations of the aesthetes concerned with the uncovering of culture, the A is for Art movement of the late 00s fashioned its own visual and auditory underground in Tooting. Aesthetes of ‘A’ enlightened residents in the London Borough of Wandsworth, restoring a sense of community. James Yule presents a radio documentary on The Origin of A, featuring interviews with Peter Piontek and Aubrey Dumonde. Yule, Piontek and Dumonde are alumni of Wimbledon College of Art and Curatorial Consultants of the Continental Operations Gallery.
